Up The Apples & Pears

$145.00

Size:

  • An unusual fragrance that evokes the scent of a London pub in 1933; apple pie, pear syllabub, gin, beer, roll-ups, wooden floor and bread rolls.

Up the Apples & Pears has its own accompanying detective story, set in a 1930s London pub run by elferly sisters, Cissy and Dottie Shuttleworth.

Max Heusler (the one Maxed Out is named after) did a review of his top more daring fragrances and named this number 1!

Earlier this month Now Smell This put us first in the top ten fall fragrances:

"North Americans are generally suspicious of any slang phrase that starts with "up", but "apples and pears" is just Cockney for "stairs". We're talking about a second floor pub, because besides the eponymous fruits, this scent includes hops, gin, whiskey, bread and woody accords. It is indeed a boozy fragrance, but it's crisper than those notes might indicate, with a yeasty, close-wearing dry down, perfect for those of you with My Little Pony's Applejack as your spirit animal.2 Sweet and lightly musky, Montale Wild Pears is a similar pleasure for our season of mist and mellow fruitfulness."

It has notes of gin, cider, apple pies, wooden floors, whisky, roll ups and bread buns.

Top notes are Apple, Pear, Hops and Gin; middle notes are Whiskey and Woody Notes; base note is Bread.
