Gourmand fragrances are not going anywhere, but the way people wear them in summer has changed. Instead of dense vanilla, caramel, chocolate, or cake-like sweetness, warm-weather gourmands need room to breathe. The most interesting ones still have sweetness, creaminess, or edible texture, but they balance it with citrus, salt, tea, green notes, coconut water, tropical fruit, woods, or musk — something that gives the fragrance movement instead of weight.

Recent travels to Paris and India offered two different windows into the world of fragrance. Paris brought industry conversations, factory visits with Nishane, and connections with brands, retailers, and Nez. India brought the search for raw materials into the streets of Delhi and Jaipur, through flower merchants, oil vendors, chai, spices, jasmine, marigolds, roses, and khus. Together, these trips are part of an ongoing effort to get closer to the source, bring customers what is happening behind the curtain, and continue that search in Milan.

Independent perfumeries may each have their own shelves, cities, and communities, but they are all part of the same larger ecosystem. Independent perfumery is not strengthened by isolation. It grows when more people have places to discover it, when stores champion small brands, share knowledge, create events, and keep customers excited about smelling beyond the obvious.

A wedding fragrance should feel like more than something you wore because it smelled nice. It becomes part of the memory: the room, the flowers, the dress, the suit, the movement, the nerves, the celebration, and the people you love. Scent has a way of attaching itself to all of it, which is why choosing a fragrance for your wedding day deserves a little more thought than picking something at random the week before.

Our customer base has grown as they share what they love, what they wear, and what they discover at our shop. From where we stand in the perfume industry, 2026 feels like a pivotal year. It comes back to progress and direction. How do we lean into that momentum without losing the human side of things?
