Sleep Knot came into being when a PR company asked us to make a romantic fragrance to spray on hotel pillows for Valentines Day weekend.
"We want sandalwood, ylang ylang, black pepper and jasmine," they said.
"Great," we said, "Any particular reason?"
"We've read that they are aphrodisiacs," they told us. And so they are, according to traditional eastern herbalism. We made the fragrance, and the PR company were quite surprised that they liked it. It seemed a shame not to make another batch, so we did.
White flower fragrances aren't that fashionable in the UK at the moment, but their smoochy seductiveness goes down very well in the US. They'll be back though, so we'll keep making it. Jasmine is just wonderful, and we'd vouch for its traditional properties.
