What Is SCIRCLE? Meet AI Fragrance at Perfumology
Artificial intelligence is entering almost every creative field right now, and fragrance is no exception. That can sound exciting or a little strange, depending on how you look at it. Perfume is emotional. It’s personal. It lives on skin, shifts throughout the day, and becomes part of how we experience the world around us.
That’s why SCIRCLE is interesting to us. It doesn’t treat fragrance like a random formula generator. It starts with something human: a memory, a mood, a moment, or an idea you want to express. Then it turns that into scent.
What Is SCIRCLE?
SCIRCLE is an AI-powered fragrance creation platform that helps people create custom scents through personal storytelling. Instead of starting with a shelf full of finished perfumes, SCIRCLE starts with you. You can begin with a feeling, a place, a texture, or a version of yourself you want to translate into fragrance.
That might be a wedding, a new job, a trip, a breakup, a season, a person, or simply a part of your life you want to capture. Something confident. Something soft. Something sensual. Something bright. Something that feels like summer. Something that feels like somewhere you never want to forget.
The interesting part is that the process doesn’t begin with a note list. It begins with meaning.
Why Start With a Memory, Mood, or Moment?
In traditional perfume shopping, people often begin with notes. Do you like vanilla? Do you like rose? Do you want something fresh? Sweet? Woody? Clean?
That can be useful, but it can also be limiting. Someone might ask for one note and realize the feeling they were chasing lives somewhere else entirely. A request for something “clean” might really mean quiet, airy, polished, or emotionally uncluttered.
Many customers come into the shop knowing the feeling they want to create, but not always knowing how to describe that in fragrance language. They may not know whether they’re describing texture, temperature, atmosphere, or emotion. They might just know they want something that feels sun-warmed, private, celebratory, nostalgic, or like a place they never wanted to leave.
That’s where Aura comes in.
Aura is SCIRCLE’s AI perfumer. You give it a direction, whether that’s a story, a mood, an ingredient you like, or a feeling you want the fragrance to create. Aura then uses that information to craft a formula.
It gives people a different entry point into perfume. Instead of needing the right fragrance vocabulary from the beginning, you can start with what you want the scent to mean.

The Perfumology Experience
At Perfumology, the SCIRCLE experience brings the digital and physical sides of fragrance together.
The process begins online, where you create your formula with Aura. You can tell Aura what you want the fragrance to express, then save the formula as a draft. From there, you bring it into the shop, where we use SCIRCLE’s Scent Creator device to blend your fragrance in person.
Fragrance still needs a physical experience. You need to smell it. You need to see how it feels once it becomes real. You need the moment where an idea turns into something you can hold, spray, wear, and share.
That was the idea behind our recent Bloom Into Your Scent event with SCIRCLE at Perfumology. We invited people into the shop for an immersive afternoon of custom fragrance, flower bouquets, classic Polaroid pictures, and summer scent energy. It was all built around the idea of creating new experiences tied to the strongest sense we have: smell.
What AI Can and Can’t Do
AI can do a lot in fragrance. It can help organize ideas. It can translate emotional language into scent direction. It can make custom fragrance feel more approachable for people who don’t know how to speak in note pyramids or fragrance families. It can help someone create something personal in a way that feels fast, intuitive, and interactive.
But AI can’t replace everything.
It can’t replace taste. It can’t replace skin. It can’t replace the feeling of smelling something in person and knowing immediately whether it belongs to you. And it can’t replace perfumers.
Perfume has always been about more than ingredients. It’s memory, identity, emotion, and expression. AI can help shape the path, but the meaning still comes from the person. That’s why SCIRCLE feels like the right kind of experiment for us. It gives people a new way to create, but it still begins with something personal.
