Choosing Your Wedding Fragrance at Perfumology
A wedding fragrance should feel like more than something you wore because it smelled nice.
It becomes part of the memory: the room, the flowers, the dress, the suit, the movement, the nerves, the celebration, and the people you love. Scent has a way of attaching itself to all of it, which is why choosing a fragrance for your wedding day deserves a little more thought than picking something at random the week before.
When we joined Positively Philly for Old City’s Wedding Stroll segment, we brought a few perfumes that felt right for the moment. We have fragrances for brides, grooms, and anyone who wants the scent of the day to feel personal, intentional, and memorable.
The Softer Side of Wedding Fragrance

Some people want their wedding fragrance to feel almost part of the day itself. It doesn’t need to announce itself across the room. It just needs to feel special when someone is close enough to notice.
That’s where a fragrance like Blanche Bête works so well. Blanche Bête is one of the most popular bridal fragrances at our shop, and it makes sense. It has this soft white feeling that immediately connects to a wedding dress, but it doesn’t feel flat or predictable. To me, it smells like jasmine, coconut, and whipped cream, giving it this soft, pretty, almost luminous quality. It lasts, but it isn’t very loud, which is exactly what makes it such a lovely option for a bride who wants something romantic and close to the skin.
When You Want to Make a Statement

Another direction is presence.
Some people want the fragrance to move with them. They want something guests notice as they walk by, something that feels polished, confident, and impossible to ignore.
Ganymede is the fragrance I personally wear most often to weddings. It has a very distinct kind of elegance, built around mandarin, violet, immortelle, and suede, with a mineral quality that gives it an almost futuristic freshness. I describe it as an unexpected harmony around mandarin, violet, immortelle, and suede.
What makes it so interesting for a wedding is the movement. As someone walks through a room, the scent seems to lift and travel with them. It doesn’t feel heavy, but it does have a real signature. For a groom, or anyone who wants something refined and memorable without feeling traditional, it’s a strong choice.
The Bolder Wedding Scents

Some people want volume. They want drama. They want something that fills the moment with personality.
Oud Maracujá has that kind of energy. It brings together the richness of oud with exotic passion fruit, saffron, rose, benzoin, leather, patchouli, vanilla, and akigalawood.
It’s a contrast between oud wood and luminous passion fruit notes. That contrast makes it feel boisterous in the best way! Fruity, woody, textured, and bold. It’s not the quiet choice, and that’s exactly the point.
Vanilla Powder moves in a different but equally noticeable direction. It has vanilla, coconut, musk, and palo santo, with white musks wrapped around the vanilla and powdery texture. It has softness, but it also has volume. It’s comfortable, modern, and enveloping, the kind of scent that feels smooth on skin but still makes an impression.

Choosing the Right Direction
The best wedding fragrance isn’t always the most popular one. It’s the one that feels like the person wearing it. That’s why we always like to start with the feeling someone wants to create. Do you want something soft and romantic? Clean and polished? Warm and intimate? Bold and unforgettable? There’s no single correct answer!
A bride may want something powerful. A groom may want something understated. A couple may want fragrances that contrast each other, or ones that feel like they belong together. The most interesting choices usually happen when people stop thinking about what they’re supposed to wear and start thinking about what they actually want to remember.
Wedding Planning in Old City
During the Wedding Stroll segment, we shared the stage with our neighbor Boxbar Philly, who brought personalized favors and showed how small details can become lasting keepsakes for guests.
One of the best parts of being in Old City is that weddings here feel connected to the neighborhood. You can find the dress, the venue, the favors, the food, the scent, and the people who help bring all of those pieces together.
For us, fragrance is one of those details that may seem small at first, but becomes unforgettable later.
